A cafe found in Australia is in hot water after a customer took to Facebook to vent his outrage over being charged a $1 "heating fee" for warming up his $7 raspberry and white chocolate muffin. The angry OP exclaimed, "A f*****g dollar to heat my muffin? It's crap like this that just makes you shake your head." According to the man, he ordered the pastry only to be blindsided by the undisclosed surcharge on his $8 total bill.
Now backpedaling, the unnamed cafe claimed the "heat standard" line was a mistake despite initially defending the practice and accusing the "influential keyboard warrior" of inciting a "lynch mob" after receiving threats. The following day, they posted to social media telling people to come in for a free muffin.
