Houston-based social media influencer, Victoria Vanna, recently shared the story of a homeless family of four she found sleeping under a highway bridge. Vanna's viral TikTok video brought attention to the family’s struggle. Moved by their situation, the influencer used her platform to rally support for them, and to raise awareness about homelessness in general.

The mom of the family shared that her family had faced violence in in their home country, Honduras. She told Vanna about losing her two sons and husband to violence there, leading them to flee the country and eventually wind up homeless on the streets of Houston. Vanna's video has been viewed over 300-thousand times and has received thousands of supportive comments, which has helped raise funds for the family's immediate needs.

In less than a week, the community response has been overwhelming, with nearly 600 donations amounting to more than $12-thousand coming in to help the family. Money from the crowdfund has been used to help the family with hotel accommodation, food, and even a makeover. Vanna's next goal is to secure temporary housing for the family and help them start a cleaning business, giving them a path to start earning an income and rebuilding their lives.
