In 2022, Jeremy Olson from Diamond Springs, California, learned that his wife’s colleague in the local symphony needed a kidney and he decided to donate his. Though the colleague tragically passed away during the screening process, this didn’t deter Olson from donating his kidney to a complete stranger in need.

Now he’s preparing for his second organ donation. Motivated by a desire to improve others' lives, Olson is now ready to donate part of his liver to another stranger in need. "I want everybody to have an awesome life,” he says, “Why wouldn't I want to do this?"

Olson recognizes the incredible need for organ donors, noting that around 100-thousand people in the U.S. are waiting for organ transplants. He sees the act of donating an organ as an honor and considers it a minor inconvenience compared to the life-altering impact it has on the recipient. "It's an inconvenience for us, but life-changing for someone else,” he says, “It's a no-brainer for me."
