Last week while attempting to catch a bus as it pulled away from a stop, an 18-year-old man in the Spandau borough of Berlin, Germany fell down partially underneath the bus. The bus driver quickly realized what was happening and stopped the bus, but not before the young man became trapped under the vehicle’s rear tire.

Around 40 people, including bus riders and bystanders worked together to lift the corner of the bus enough to safely pull the teen out from under the tire. One of the good Samaritans, Frank Kurze describes the scene, saying, "I saw the men trying to lift the bus, and it was clear to me that I also had to help."

Medical professionals from a nearby clinic heard the commotion and rushed to aid the man, who miraculously only suffered minor injuries. "We were at work when we heard screams,” recalls nurse Michelle Rueckborn, “Our boss looked out of the window and saw what had happened, and said 'Take the doctor's case and run.'" Berlin police later praised the good Samaritans for working together to save the young man, writing on social media, “Thank you Spandau, thank you Berlin."
