Around 2am on Saturday morning, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office in Allendale Township, Michigan, received a call about a young boy, around three or four years old, wandering alone in his pajamas in the middle of a heavy rain. The child was unable to tell deputies where he was from because, as they later learned, he’s autistic and nonverbal.
Deputies did a search of the area, but weren’t able to figure out where the child came from, so officers brought in their canine colleague K-9 Goos. The dog was able to follow a short trail, leading deputies to a nearby apartment complex across the road from where the child was found.
The deputies located the child’s apartment, returning him to his relieved family and bringing a happy ending to the boy's adventure. In a statement, the sheriff's office said the "child was reunited with his family safely and without any injuries."
