Move over, snake charmers…there’s a new sheriff in town. The Falmouth Worm Charming Championships were held Sunday in the UK and records were broken in a BIG way. Competitors this year managed to charm a whopping 260 worms out of the ground using techniques like interpretive dance, kitchen forks, and musical instruments, among other wild coaxing techniques. Numbers were way up from last year when a heatwave only brought ONE worm to the surface.
The event wasn’t just about getting the little guys out of the ground either…the championship featured all things wiggly - worm tattoos, worm paintings, and worm-charming merchandise were all being hawked during the festivities.
