Some things are just meant to be. Renee Forrestall was about to hit 60 and started reflecting on the times in her life that brought balance. Most of it was spending time at the roller rink on the waterfront in Halifax, Nova Scotia. So, she decided to pick up the hobby again.

Renee had sold her roller skates decades ago at a local sale, so she bought some new ones. It took two weeks to decide they don’t make them as well as they used to. So… Forrestall went hunting for vintage skates on Facebook Marketplace and found some locally. The man who had them kept them for two days until Renee could pick them up.

She put them on and the skates fit perfectly. Then she looked inside and saw her name written on them in her own handwriting! What are the odds? For $40 she and her trusty skates were reunited. The crazy thing is the skates were posted two hours before Renee opted to go vintage.

Renee’s daughter helped create a TikTok to share the story and now it’s viral.
