Photographs by renowned “National Geographic” photographers are being sold to provide humanitarian aid for Ukrainians. The women-led nonprofit Vital Impact has organized a flash sale of photo prints from over 100 “National Geographic” photographers. All of the proceeds of the sale are going to Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization providing medical aid in Ukraine.
Award winning photojournalist and Vital Impact co-founder Ami Vitale is spearheading the fundraiser. She hopes to turn her grief over the senseless violence in Ukraine into action that can help the people of Ukraine. “We can all watch the horrors of the world from afar and feel so helpless but this is a way to support humanitarian efforts,” she says. “The hope is that this work will inspire everyone who sees it to work for a world of peace and compassion.”
The photos are from some of the most notable photojournalists alive and many — but not all — are images from Ukraine. The prints come in two sizes and are $275 for 11 inch by 17 inch prints and $675 for 16 inch by 24 inch prints. The fundraising sale ends on April 20th.
