Maryland Officers Rescue Two Kids, Two Adults From SUV In Pond

Maryland police officers rescue two young children and two adults from a half-submerged SUV that crashed into a pond. Around 9pm on April 1st, an officer with the Anne Arundel County Police Department was patrolling near Severn-Danza Park in Severn, Maryland, when he heard a crash. Nearby he found an SUV that had gone off the road into a pond. The vehicle was taking on water and had four people trapped inside.

A supervisor and another officer immediately entered the waist-deep water to rescue the occupants. Bodycam video of the incident shows the officers breaking the passenger side door windows. They calmly pull the nine-month-old and three-year-old children from the vehicle and carry them to another officer on the shore before returning to rescue the adults.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash or the rescue. "Aside from being cold and wet, everyone involved was unharmed," police say. The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle reportedly wasn’t licensed to drive and was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
