Missouri Gov. Signs "Random Act Of Kindness Day" Bill

Missouri officially has a Random Act Of Kindness Day. Governor Parson signed the bill into law, making August 31st the day to show kindness to others in the state. State Representative Mike McGirl was on hand for the signing, which has special significance for him.

McGirl has been pushing for the bill since meeting resident Lela Thompson of Cadet. She lost her daughter to suicide and felt the bill was so important that she testified on behalf of it.

August 31 is the day before Suicide Prevention Month begins in September, and was picked for that reason.
