When wintry weather hit northern Kentucky, many people were stuck at home because it was dangerous to drive. But the team of delivery drivers at Mason Family Drug in Maysville didn’t let the ice and snow stop them.
The pharmacy continued making home deliveries to bring customers their prescriptions despite the conditions. “A lot of our patients are homebound, not able to get out,” explains Mason Family Drug owner Michael Berry. “They're very dependent on our delivery drivers.”
He went above and beyond for one patient who was worried about ice-induced power outages because he’s on a nebulizer machine for breathing. Berry was able to contact the man’s doctor and convert him to an inhaler-type of medicine that wouldn’t be dependent on electricity. “The guy was in tears that we were able to get his medicine down there to him,” Berry recalls. “He wouldn’t have to worry about losing electricity and not being able to breathe.”
