A group of young men from Canada wanted to go see a waterfall, so they set on a two-and-a-half-mile hike to view it. One of the guys, 21-year-old Aaron Friesen, was born with spastic bilateral cerebral palsy and has been in a wheelchair his entire life, but that didn’t stop him from making the trek with his friends.
The group set off on their hike, which includes rough and steep terrain, and at first they took turns pushing the wheelchair using brute force. When they realized that wasn’t going to work, Willy Peters came up with the idea to stick logs under the wheelchair to carry Aaron and that was the ticket. People who passed the friends in action had expressions of both shock and inspiration, the guys say, but to them it was a no-brainer.
"We just wanted to see the waterfall, and Aaron goes wherever we go," Peters said.
