An Ashland business was closed by the Ashland County Health Department on Tuesday due to a severe rodent infestation.

According to AshlandSource.com, officials from the health department posted the notice around 8:30 pm Tuesday at the Discount Drug Mart on Claremont Avenue.

The investigation came following a complaint on Tuesday morning at the store.

The Director of Environmental Health for the Ashland County Health Department, Kimberly Wayman, said, a severe infestation posed an imminent health hazard.

The Ashland County Health Department did clear the Drug Mart pharmacy drive-thru to re-open on Wednesday, September 10th. The health department said, the building will remain closed until Environmental Health Specialists confirm that the buildings unsanitary conditions are no longer a threat to the public's health.
