The U.S. Marshals Service has recovered DNA evidence from clothing a Mansfield man was wearing nearly 60 years ago when he killed a teenager.
RichlandSource.com reports, a cold case unit has been working with Mansfield Police, and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office to extract DNA from the clothing, Lester Eubanks wore on the night he murdered 14 year old Mary Ellen Deener on November 14th, 1965.
Eubanks, who was found guilty of murder by a jury in 1966, escaped in December of 1973, when he was given a privilege of an honor assignment and was allowed outside of the prison.
Lester Eubanks has not been seen in over 50 years.
The U.S. Marshals have released age progression photos of Eubanks, who is now 81 years old. He is still listed in the Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives. A reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to his location.
