A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday morning in Mansfield for the Water Main Replacement Initiative.
The 4-year project was approved by voters in March of 2024, which is expected to generate $4.8 million a year to replace aging water lines in town. This year, Mansfield is expected to replace around 3 miles of water mains, thanks to the 1/4% tax approved last year. Overall, more than a total of 50 miles of water lines need replaced in the city.
The ceremony was held on Parkway Drive, between West Fourth St. and North Lake Park.
