The Richland County Board of Commissioners formally announces the selection of Sarah E. Potes as Director of the Emergency Management Agency for Richland County.
Ms. Potes served in a support role at Richland County EMA from January 2022 to August 2024, including a successful stint as the agency’s interim director. In August 2024, she was recruited to work as grants specialist for the State of Ohio EMA, managing grant coordination for 24 county EMA agencies. Ms. Potes holds an associate degree in business administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in emergency management, both degrees from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Ms. Potes is a lifelong resident of Richland County, and she and her family reside in the Bellville area. The Board is pleased to have her skills and experience serving the citizens of Richland County. She will begin her new role on May 8, 2025.
