Selena Gomez may be happily in love with her fiancé Benny Blanco, but there was a time in her life where she couldn't have "accepted" his "unconditional love."

Gomez and Blanco recently sat down for a joint conversation with Interview magazine, their first interview together, where they opened up more about their relationship, from details about the Rare Beauty founder's stunning engagement ring to revelations about how the music producer's proposal was nearly ruined.

The "Love On" singer was also asked about any potential relationship advice she had for others, but she admitted to not having "life figured out in any way." Instead, she explained the importance of feeling "seen" and "respected" in her romance with Blanco, per People.

"My perspective on it, in a simplistic way, is that I actually feel valued. I feel seen. I feel respected. And I think that's all I've ever really wanted," she said."

Gomez said that being single for years before getting into a relationship with her I Said I Love You First collaborator helped prepare her for the "unconditional love" he had to share.

"I've kind of been alone in the world. I was alone for five years before we got together, and I think that really helped me appreciate someone like Ben," she said, adding, "He gets so weirded out by me saying this, but genuinely, 10 years ago, I wasn't in a space in my life where I could have accepted the kind of patience, the kind of unconditional love that he gives me."

Blanco most recently surprised his fiancée with a truly "cheesy" and definitely one-of-a-kind gift for Valentine's Day because she "isn't much of a flowers girl."
