Mansfield City Council To Meet Tuesday, Discuss Dry Dam Proposal

Mansfield City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday night at 7 pm.

Where discussion about the Dry Dam Proposal, according to RichlandSource.com, is moving closer to a possible design and engineering services, after more financial information has become available.


In late July, Mansfield’s $15 million dollar Dry Dam proposal was tabled.

The plan, which was first introduced in 2018, is to help reduce flooding in the north end of Mansfield.

RichlandSource.com reports, the concern from some member of council is that Mansfield recently has taken on $50 million dollars in debt for state mandates for improvements, which include $35 million at its waste water treatment facility. Some members of council saying they want to see further financial reports before possibly moving forward.
