Crave Kitchen & Bar in Eagle, Idaho, is generously supporting local teachers by donating $25-thousand to clear their Amazon wish lists as part of "The Greater Give Back" campaign, now in its third year. The restaurant, which opened in 2020, has been embraced by the community, with customers coming from all over the region, and they view helping out local teachers as a great way to give back.

The campaign, which started a few weeks ago, is aimed at alleviating the financial burden teachers face when purchasing classroom supplies out of their own pockets. Crave Kitchen co-owner Tara Morandi says she and her husband were surprised at learning how much teachers spend on these essentials. Since kicking off the campaign three years ago, it’s grown each year. The first year, they donated $10-thousand and last year they were able to clear wish lists for 174 teachers from the Boise and West Ada School Districts.

Teachers have expressed deep gratitude for the support, with some sharing emotional moments of appreciation. In addition to the pledge of $25-thousand, Crave is allowing customers to also contribute by rounding up their bills or adding donations directly to the campaign when dining at the restaurant. Morandi believes in the importance of community involvement, saying that every dollar helps make a difference. This year’s campaign ends on August 1st, but Crave is already looking ahead and plans to do it again next year.
