A Resort guest and a UPS driver in Washington state are being hailed as heroes after they save a little girl from drowning. UPS driver Brain Walters was making a delivery near the Smokiam RV Resort in central Washington when he saw a commotion at the resort. An unresponsive seven-year-old girl had been pulled from the resort’s pool.

Walters, who’s a volunteer firefighter and a former police officer, offered to help and he and resort guest Shelan Khoshnaw worked together, performing CPR on the girl for about a minute until she started “coughing up water.” After the girl came to, she was reportedly “alert and crying” while receiving medical care in the back of an ambulance. She was then transported via helicopter for more medical care.

The girl is reportedly doing well after the incident. Her family says that she’s talking and being monitored at the hospital. Smokiam RV Resort management thanked the pair for saving the little girl and rewarded them with money and free stays at the resort.
