An afternoon hike took a scary turn for a family in Kentucky, luckily their son is a real life “superhero.” The four-year-old boy was hiking with his parents near the Princess Arch section of Red River Gorge when he slipped and “took a tumbling fall off of a cliff,” according to the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team.
On his way down, the tot reportedly plunged 70 feet down, hitting multiple ledges along the way. Authorities say his father rushed down the cliff face to save his son, picking him up and carrying him downhill and across a suspension bridge before meeting up with the emergency squad. And somehow, the boy wasn’t injured, aside from some scrapes and bruises.
In a Facebook post, the Wolfe County Search and Rescue team calls the incident “nothing short of a miracle.” They explain that the fall didn’t dampen the tough tot’s spirits and that he was “very talkative” and “very interested in superheroes,” adding that “the only superhero present was him!”
