“Blues Clues” Celebrates LGBTQ Families With Pride Parade Sing-Along

June is Pride Month and “Blues Clues” is celebrating with a new sing-along video. It features an animated version of drag queen Nina West, a contestant from “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” singing a catchy song about different types of families.

The song in “The Blue's Clues Pride Parade” sing-along is to the tune of “The Ants Go Marching,” but the lyrics have been changed to be LGBTQ inclusive. The parade includes families of different animals that have two daddies, two mommies or other parents in the LGBTQ community. “This family has two mommies,” West sings. “They love each other so proudly and they all go marching in the big parade. Love is love is love you see and everyone should love proudly.”

The Nickelodeon kids’ show debuted the video on their YouTube channel and based on the comments there and on social media, lots of people are excited about the inclusive family song. One Twitter user writes that they loved “Blues Clues” as a kid and that “it warms my heart to know some kid out there is seeing it and feeling accepted.” And another tweets, “I didn’t have blue’s clues kicking off pride month on my 2021 bingo card but here we are and I am sobbing over it.”
