When a stranger approached Linda Witt-King, a 75-year-old woman living on the streets of Costa Mesa, California, asking for some food, she didn’t hesitate to give him all that she had. But it turns out that the man asking for food was actually TikToker Jimmy Darts, who rewarded Linda with $1,000 in cash for her kindness.
In a now viral video, Linda tears up as she tells Darts that the money will allow her to stay in a motel that night instead of sleeping in her tent. She also tells him that she’s living on the streets because that's how she’s able to be of the most help to the neediest people in her community. After sharing her story with his 12-million followers, Darts started a crowdfund, which quickly raised over $44-thousand to help Linda in her mission to help others.
With the money raised, Linda has been able to secure housing in Costa Mesa and purchase a van to help her get back on her feet. She expressed her immense gratitude and plans to give back by helping others experiencing homelessness. Linda's ultimate goal is to establish the Gracious Nomad Academy, an initiative aimed at addressing homelessness in Orange County.
