Community members in Sonoma County, California, come together to help return a resident’s stolen TV. Last week, a man named Chuck picked up a new 85-inch Sony TV at a Sonoma County Costco and loaded it up in the back of his pickup. On his way home, he stopped by a grocery store and while he was inside the store, someone stole the TV out of his truck. Not knowing what to do, Chuck called Costco to let them know what had happened.
That evening, while she was gassing up her car, nurse Tori Bruno heard a thump as a big box fell out of the back of a truck driving by her right into the middle of Old Redwood Highway. She and her wife went to pick up the box before someone could run it over and were helped by an off-duty Sheriff’s officer, who took the box from there back to the Sheriff’s station. The Sheriff’s Office posted about the found TV on social media and the Costco employee that Chuck had talked to kindly provided the Sheriff with the proof that the TV belonged to Chuck and he was notified that it had been found.
The day after the Sheriff’s post, Chuck traveled to the Sheriff’s office to pick up his TV. He told the deputies that he’s grateful to the good Samaritans who recovered his TV for him and posed for a picture with his big screen and two deputies, giving the camera a big thumbs up.
