In the middle of her move from Florida to Michigan, Jamie McCall’s cat Tucker escaped from her hotel room in Cleveland, Tennessee. "Tucker got out of the room, ran across the highway, a four lane highway,” Jamie recalls. “I didn’t even know he was gone until I came back from the Waffle House.” She spent hours looking for Tucker, but the three-year-old cat never turned up and Jamie had to go on without him, but she was devastated about it.
Once in Michigan, Jamie posted on Facebook about her missing cat and about a week later, she was contacted by Holly Lea, a woman back in Tennessee who’d found Tucker and had been caring for him. Holly and Jamie stayed in contact and a few weeks later Holly arranged for her grandfather, entertainment tour bus driver James “Hurricane” Heathfield, to deliver Tucker to Michigan. “I had to finish my job … we were in the middle of the tour," says Hurricane. "I had one more tour and when I got back I said, ‘Okay, time to go to Michigan before Christmas, so Tucker can get home for Christmas.’"
On Friday of last week, Tucker finally made it home to his grateful owner. "That’s Tucker! That’s my baby," Jamie exclaimed when she was finally reunited with her beloved cat. In addition to her cat, Hurricane also gave Jamie a little red sleigh as a Christmas gift. He says he is grateful to be part of helping someone like this and Jamie says having Tucker back is the best Christmas present she could ever get.
