The CEO of a Florida-based moving company is providing free moving services for people in need. More than a decade ago, Josh Morales, founder and CEO of Coral Springs, Florida-based moving company International Van Lines, and his wife started fostering two young boys. They thought it was going to be a temporary situation, but they ended up adopting the boys and Morales has become a big advocate for foster care.
Through his experience with the foster care system, the 40-year-old entrepreneur recognized an opportunity to help give back and started offering free moving services to foster kids and their families. Word of his kindness spread and soon he was approached to help another group of people in need: victims of domestic violence.
The moves can cost upward of $8-thousand each and even just moving foster kids locally costs between $25- and $35-hundred. Morales estimates that his company does 25 to 35 free moves a year, totaling around $100-thousand. The father of three grew up poor in New York City and loves being part of helping kids pull themselves out of poverty. “I love kids; they're our future. I like teaching them. I like mentoring them,” he says. “This is just a way for us to give back."
