A good Samaritan in Michigan comes to the rescue of a woman whose car was stuck on the train tracks. Patty James was on the way to gas up her daughter’s car one evening earlier this week when she crossed over the railroad tracks in Port Huron, Michigan.

Instinctively, Patty looked both ways as she passed over the tracks and she noticed there was a car parked on the tracks with no lights on. Even more concerning, she could see a train down the tracks headed their way. So Patty made a split-second decision and rushed up the embankment toward the car and discovered a woman was behind the wheel looking at her phone.

“I started screaming at her, ‘There’s a train coming,’ and she had no idea,” Patty recalls. “She got out of the car, and I said, ‘Let’s go.’” The two women got as far away from the tracks as they could before the train came through and demolished the woman’s car. The woman was having car trouble, didn’t even know she was on the train tracks, and was trying to contact a tow truck when Patty approached her car. Now Patty is being credited with saving the woman’s life, and while she says what she did was nothing special, the woman she saved disagrees and calls Patty an angel.
