A North Carolina woman celebrates her 110th birthday and shares her secret to living a long life. Catherine Ferrell was born in Warsaw, North Carolina, in 1912 and in her life she’s lived through two world wars, the Great Depression, and two global pandemics. Earlier this week, she celebrated her 110th birthday surrounded by friends and family in Durham.
When asked how she’s managed to live to her age, she credits her faith and she offers this valuable bit of life advice to anyone. “Treat people like you want to be treated. That’s all I know,” Catherine says. “If they don’t treat you like that, respect them and keep on moving. Don’t get mad and fall out. Just keep on moving and doing what you’ve been taught to do.”
Among the many people who recognized Ferrell on her milestone birthday were North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and President Joe Biden.
