An American couple’s Scottish wedding is saved by locals after all their luggage goes missing. Amanda and Paul Riesel arrived at Isle of Skye the night before their dream wedding was supposed to take place with only their wedding rings and her bouquet. On their trip from their home in Orlando to Scotland they experienced a series of delays and diversions, and their luggage was lost along the way.
The bride was prepared to give up on the wedding she’d been planning for two years and return to Orlando, but their wedding photographer Rosie Woodhouse got involved to try and salvage it. She posted a plea to social media asking other locals for help, and by the next morning, she’d lined up everything the couple would need to go through with their nuptials.
Not exactly as planned, the wedding happened that next day. Amanda, wearing a borrowed dress, and Paul, in a full kilt set lent to him, said “I do” in the picturesque Scottish highlands. And they owe it all to the kindness of strangers. "Our perfectly imperfect wedding was only a possibility because of Rosie and the wonderful folks in Skye,” Amanda says. "Every single person Rosie introduced us to and that offered to help will forever have a place in our hearts.”
