Shawn Mendes provides the voice for the title character of the new film “Lyle Lyle Crocodile,” and we are now getting are first look at the film. A trailer for the flick has just dropped, which includes him singing the Stevie Wobnder classic “Sir Duke,” as well as an original song by Tony winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
The film, based on Bernard Waber’s 1965 children’s book, follows the title character and his relationship with the Primm family, especially their son Josh.
- “What was really amazing was that Lyle as a character only sings, so I felt really comfortable playing his character,” Shawn tells “People.” “I was able to do what I do best, plus I relate to his story and his character so much it felt natural.” He adds, “When I was approached to help make the music for the adaptation of such a classic book, it was a no brainer and just such a fun departure from what I am used to.” Check out the trailer to the right.
