Vegas Casino Surprises Employees With $5K Bonuses

Every employee at a Las Vegas resort casino is surprised with a $5-thousand bonus. Last week at an employee appreciation and awards buffet at the Las Vegas resort casino The Cosmopolitan, it was announced that each of the resort's 54-hundred employees would be getting a $5-thousand bonus. Around half of the resort’s workers were in attendance at the event where executives praised the job they did while working through the pandemic.

The bonuses total more than $27-million and arrive just ahead of a planned $1.6-billion sale of the resort to casino giant MGM Resorts International, who currently owns the properties on both sides of The Cosmopolitan: the Bellagio and the City Center complex.

Cosmopolitan chief people officer Daniel Espino thanked the employees for maintaining "a youthful, exuberant brand" during the last couple of difficult years. "It's you, every single day, that makes a difference," he says. "Whether you clean the rooms, cook the food, are dealing cards, serving drinks, at the front desk."
