Stranger Buys Jordans For Teen With Autism

A kind stranger buys Air Jordans for a Chicago teen with autism. Theresa Hunt and her son Xavier were at the Foot Locker in Chicago’s Brickyard Mall shopping for some new shoes for his sixteenth birthday. Xavier, who is autistic, had his heart set on a new pair of Nike Air Jordans, but the expensive shoes were out of Hunt’s price range.

She offered to buy him a different pair of shoes and they got in line to check-out. As they stood in line and talked about how well Xavier is doing in school, a man in front of them in line — who’d been listening as the mother and son talked — quietly purchased a pair of Air Jordans in Xavier’s size. He then turned around and handed them to the teen and wished him well in school, then left the store.

Hunt was caught off-guard by the kind gesture and didn’t get a chance to get the stranger’s name before he left. "I'm always blessing others, but to receive a blessing out of nowhere like that, it just feels good,” she says. “It just gives me hope." She wants the stranger to know that she and Xavier are thankful for the gift.
