An Iowa man wins $1-million Mega Millions jackpot and believes a ticket-printing mistake was the cause of his lucky break. Last week, Josh Buster, a 40-year-old prep chef from West Burlington asked for five easy-pick tickets for the Friday night Mega Millions drawing. The clerk at his local convenience store misheard him and only printed one. He then printed the four other easy-picks on a separate ticket.
Buster thinks this small printing-mistake is the difference that led to him winning the jackpot. "I feel like that changed the numbers that I would have gotten if he had put them all on one instead of making that mistake," he says. On Saturday morning when he realized he’d won, he was in disbelief. “The rest of the day, I'm just waiting to wake up from a dream," he recalls.
Buster says he plans to use his winnings to pay off his car and the mortgage on his mother’s house, and then put the rest away for his retirement. “It will take away a lot of my stress in my life -- no more of the financial worries," he says.
