While at a convenience store to buy some candy, a South Carolina woman decided to pick up a scratch-off lottery ticket and won $375-thousand. An unnamed woman stopped by the Mudra convenience store in West Union, South Carolina, to buy some candy. While at the register, she also bought a Mighty Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket for $10 and headed home.
At home, the woman scratched off her ticket in her kitchen and thought she’d won $75-thousand. When she showed her family, they pointed out that her scratch-off had the word “JUMBO” on it, indicating that her winnings were five times that amount, bringing her total to $375-thousand. “I was running through the house screaming,” the lucky lady says.
The odds of winning the Mighty Jumbo Bucks top prize are one in 960-thousand. The woman claimed $258-thousand after taxes and told lottery officials, “Now I can buy a lot of candy.”
