Twitter To Match Employee Donations To Ukrainian Refugee Organizations

Employees of Twitter will have their donations to Ukrainian refugee organizations matched by the company. On Friday, Twitter announced that the company will match employee donations that support Ukrainian refugees and that the company plans to make its own gift as well.

Twitter already had a policy of matching their employee’s donations of up to $2-thousand for eligible nonprofits around the world, but is expanding those organizations to include ones working to support the nearly 120-thousand Ukrainians who’ve fled to nearby countries to avoid the violent Russian invasion.

In addition to their financial support of Ukrainian refugees, Twitter has responded to the invasion in Ukraine by reinstating Twitter accounts that were reporting on Russian military movements that had been deleted in error. The company also offered advice to Ukrainian users like disabling location data that Russian intelligence could use to track their movements. And they’re not the only social media organization trying to do right by Ukraine: Google, Facebook, and Twitter all announced this week that they are putting limits on Russian ads.
