Man With Alzheimer’s Remarries Wife After Forgetting They Were Married

A man with Alzheimer’s proposed to his wife after forgetting they were married and they recently renewed their vows. Lisa Marshall has been the caretaker for her husband, Peter, since he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2018 at 53 years old. He’s forgotten many things, but he’s never forgotten he loves her and one day while watching a wedding scene on TV, he was inspired to pop the question … again.

Peter asked Lisa to marry him, having forgotten they tied the knot 12 years ago. “He doesn’t know that I’m his wife,” she says. “I’m just his favorite person.” Despite already being married, she said yes to his proposal.

The couple walked down the aisle once again recently to renew their vows in front of friends and family. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and Lisa says she hasn’t seen her husband that happy in a long time.
