Siblings Donate Food Truck To Nonprofit Feeding The Community

A family has donated a food truck to a nonprofit that feeds underserved communities in Houston. Jesse Parks died on New Year’s Eve 2016 at age 35 and left behind his food truck that went unused until now.

Jesse’s uncles, Jeff and John Parks, and his mom, Laura Parks, were unsure what to do with the truck, but after seeing a story about the good work Lucille’s 1913 is doing in their community, they decided to help their cause and honor Jesse’s memory. Lucille’s 1913 was founded by Chris Williams and has been feeding hundreds of people in need every day during the pandemic.

The brothers drove the food truck across the country from Ohio to Houston to deliver it to Williams. The donation will allow their team to continue supporting their mission and the family believes it’s the perfect way to honor Jesse. His mom, Laura, says, “I think he’d be proud to see it helping people.”
