A mother and daughter have been reunited for the first time since adoption separated them 26 years ago. Beth Cole was a 19-year-old college student when she gave birth to her Rebecca Hook back on October 3rd, 1993 and hadn’t seen her since then. She asked the adoptive parents to send photos every year, but didn’t want “to disrupt” her life, so she never reached out to her personally.
Rebecca grew up not knowing anything about her biological mom and wasn’t sure she should try to find her, but after becoming a mom herself, she decided to try. Both women had dreamed of a reunion and they finally got one this year and they both say seeing each other was pure joy.
“When it did happen, it was so much more awesome than I could have ever expected,” Rebecca says. “It was just incredible how normal and how natural it felt, like we just knew each other our entire lives.”
