Ashland School Board Gives Ok For School Resource Officers Conceal Carry

The Ashland City Schools Board of Education has approved a resolution that will allow school resource officers to carry weapons on school grounds.

The Board of Education, which gave the thumbs up on Monday, comes after House Bill 99 was put into effect last year, which allows school districts to arm teachers and staff that have gone through the proper amount of training.

According to RichlandSource.com, Steve Paramore, Ashland Superintendent, said, a big part of the resolution is to allow county school resource officers to conceal carry and legally make sure we can have those individuals operate in our buildings.
